Her Inner Showgirl

Here you see a Silva Populi in progress, her lilac body the result of a red cabbage dye bath. Her coat & arms have been made from a vintage napkin stained with tea and trimmed with vintage lace, tailored with a nod towards an Edwardian duster coat.  
 However, when it comes to her head gear this Populi has gone all showgirl with an ear hat inspired by this old circus photo found on Pinterest. From a collection of photo's published in, 'The Circus Book 1870-1950' by Taschen, this performer was photographed in 1946 at the Barnum & Bailey Circus in America.
Um, we suspect that the other young Populi may have designs on similar headgear now...
