Busy with Slow Stitching

 H.Art is fast approaching and the workshop is a buzz of activity as we finish pieces of work for the Salvation Collective exhibition, which opens officially on 7th September. 
These photo's are a glimpse of a framed piece which will form part of the exhibition.The theme for the piece is based on memory - in particular what triggers a memory and our attachment to it. These more personal pieces are often stitched slowly, allowing the nature of the fabric scraps, complete with their stains and scars, to shape the surface of the work organically. It's always interesting to see where the journey leads...
