Black Eyes & Lemonade

The mixed media piece below was made as a thank you gift for a chum who shares a love of mid-century design. It was inspired by the poster (left) for the Black Eyes & Lemonade exhibition  curated by Barbara Jones & Tom Ingram in 1951. The event took place at Whitechapel Art Gallery as part of the Festival of Britain and was delightfully eclectic in subject matter. How we wish we could take the Tardis back to that time for a look!

is the text printed on the fabric or newspaper under fine fabric or what?

Hahaha - 'or what'?
It's real paper from an old encyclopaedia, taken from the page which has the definition for 'poster' on it. There is a layer of tulle type fabric on top of it which has been stitched into. ;D
